A Message from Mr Mistry & Miss Davies

Welcome to Year 1 at St Matthew’s! We are excited to guide your children through a year full of learning, discovery, and fun. In our classroom, children build confidence and knowledge through Whiterose with Maths Mastery, develop their reading and writing skills with Pathways to Read, Pathways to Write, and RWI, and enjoy hands-on learning through practical activities. Our learning doesn’t stop indoors—Forest School sessions give children the chance to explore, problem-solve, and connect with nature. We are committed to making Year 1 a safe, inspiring, and enjoyable place where every child can flourish.
