The Primary PE and Sport Premium is additional funding provided by the Department for Education to help primary schools improve the quality of their PE, sport and physical activity provision.

At St Matthew’s, we use this funding strategically to make sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we provide. Our priorities focus on increasing pupils’ engagement in regular physical activity, raising the profile of PE and sport across the school, developing staff knowledge and confidence, providing a broad range of sporting opportunities and increasing participation in competitive sport.

We carefully plan, monitor and evaluate the impact of the funding to ensure it supports positive outcomes for all pupils and creates a lasting legacy of healthy, active lifestyles.
