School opens at 8:35 am Wednesday 2nd September for Autumn Term.
Welcome to St Matthew’s Church of England Primary School! We are a busy, friendly school right at the heart of the Bolton community, and we are very proud of the warm, caring atmosphere you feel as soon as you walk through our doors.
At St Matthew’s, we believe every child is special and full of potential. We take a child-centred approach to learning, celebrating achievements big and small, and encouraging every pupil to aim high and believe in themselves. Our Christian values of love, respect, friendship and creativity are part of everyday life in school and are captured in our vision:
“Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).
Our children are enthusiastic, kind and eager to learn, and our dedicated staff work hard to make school an exciting and supportive place to be. We have high expectations for all our pupils, but we also believe learning should be enjoyable, memorable and fun.
We are fortunate to have beautiful school grounds that give our pupils plenty of space to play, explore and learn outdoors. Our Forest School sessions are a highlight for many children, helping them build confidence, teamwork and a love of nature. Our single-level building also creates a safe, welcoming and accessible environment where everyone feels included.
We are proud of the strong links we have with our parents, carers, church and local community. By working together, we create a happy environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to do their very best.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you would like to find out more about our school, please get in touch or arrange a visit—we would love to meet you and show you around.
