Operation Encompass

Our school is part of Operation Encompass, a national safeguarding partnership between schools and the police.

Operation Encompass ensures that, when police attend an incident of domestic abuse where a child has been present or is affected, the school is informed before the next school day. This allows us to provide immediate and appropriate support for the child.

A trained member of staff, usually a Designated Safeguarding Lead, receives this information confidentially and ensures that the child is supported in a sensitive and appropriate way.

We treat this information with the utmost care and in line with our safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
